BOJACK

Someone has thought up a new breed, called Bojack this is a Boston Terrier mixed with a Jack Russell Terrier
These two dogs mixed may just be a huge compliment for each other to make a perfect companion pet and here's why.

Jack Russell Terriers have courageous personalities, they are merry, devoted, and obedient. Boston Terriers are affectionate, patient and very intelligent. Boston Terriers are used for watchdogs because they are so alert.
With all these personality traits in the mix the Bojack may just be a PERFECT COMPANION PET.

LIPOMAS

LIPOMA

Once we find a lump or bump on our dogs we tend to think the worst. Lipoma’s in your dogs, these tumors are very common in aged canines and are usually harmless. They are benign fatty tumors. Some owners remove them for cosmetic reasons. If the tumors compromise mobility then taking them out would be a good idea. These fat filled lumps are just under your dog’s skin normally shaped oval or round. If you touch them they are movable and soft.

Lipomas and other fatty tumors are the body’s way of ridding itself of toxins and other unwanted material but, because the body is out of balance, it can’t eliminate toxins through normal channels such as the kidneys, liver or intestines. When the endocrine and immune systems are not functioning at full capacity, the body does the next best thing and tries to encapsulate any unwanted material and eliminate it through the largest excretory organ of the body: the skin. Lipomas and other fatty tumors are like a lump of dirt that you would sweep under the rug when you don’t know what else to do with it.
Makes sense, never really understood where Lipomas came from.

TAILS

So so many different type of dog tails. Siberian Husky's have a Brush tail, a crank tail belong to Bull terriers, Boston terriers have screw tails maybe a kinked tail belongs to a french Bull dog. We have sword and whip and low-set and stumpy, squirrel, Pot-hook, Rat tail the list goes on and on.
The one thing tails have in common is they wag. We always equate a wagging tail with happiness. Unfortunately it really depends on which direction the tail wags.

Tail wagging could convey more meaning than previously thought.

Dogs have different emotional responses to their peers depending on the direction of a tail-wag, a new study found. Seeing a fellow dog swing its tail to the right keeps canines relaxed, while a wag to the left side of the dog's body seems to induce stress, the researchers say.

For their study, a group of researchers recruited 43 pet dogs of various breeds. The animals were outfitted with a vest that monitored their heart rates, and they were shown videos of other dogs either wagging their tails to the left or to the right.

The  dogs that watched left-side tail wagging behaved more anxiously and their heart rate sped up, the researchers said, while the dogs that watched one of their peers wag their tail to the right stayed cool; they even began to approach the dog on the screen, suggesting they saw the right-side wagging as a signal of companionship, the researchers said.

DO DOGS DREAM?

If you look at your dog while it's sleeping, sometimes you'll see its eyes move and twitch under its eyelids.Humans do this too and we definitely dream. So reachers are almost positive that dogs have dreams too.

I use to watch my Greyhound Libby run in her sleep I always thought she was dreaming of chasing rabbits on a beautifully sunny day.

Wonderful Idea

Meals-On Wheels Program will deliver pet food along with senior’s meals.

It’s A Fact: Some seniors do without food and medications to feed their cats and dogs.

For many of our home-bound seniors, a pet is their only companion – the only barrier between chilling loneliness and serious depression. Everyone is affected by today’s uncertain economy, but none are hit harder than seniors on a fixed income or meager pension. All too often, senior citizens are making harsh, sometimes life threatening, decisions on how to budget their cash. We’ve all heard the stories of the elderly woman who “shares” her nutritiously balanced “meals on wheels” meal with her dog. Or the senior gentleman who no longer takes his blood-pressure medicine so he can feed his cat.
I know they have this service in the US and I will check further to find out if Canada is as progressive. Ottawa  does not have this program. maybe in the future!!!!
