More options for Arthritis

I use infra-red massage on Emma as well as the laser pen to
help manage her arthritis. I am seeing some improvement but we still have a daily route and need to continue to be diligent dealing with her joint care.

Swimmers Ear

Swimmers Ears

Summer time is the perfect time for water fun.

Even though lots of dogs swim the doggie paddle water still gets in their ears.
The shape of the ear canal can trap water and your dog can get an ear infection.
After swimming gently towel your dog’s head encouraging him to shake.
Then dry with cotton balls or a cloth as much of the inside of the ear as you can without going to
deep into the ear canal.
Drop ears need extra attention because they trap water and its harder to keep ears dry.
A mixture of 50% water and 50% white vinegar can be used to swab out the ear after swimming.
This mixture does have an anti-bacterial property; the acidity makes it hard for bacteria to grow.
Use the water and vinegar solution as a preventive. If the ear is already infected it will be red, sore
to touch, and usually have a dark discharge. You will need to seek Veterinarian’s help,

antibiotic and or antifungal ointments will need to be administered.

PEANUT -BUTTER

This is a good article to read about peanut butter.

I use peanut-butter a lot I trained with it, I used it in kongs.  I bought and made treats with peanut-butter in them.

I was giving my young Border collie a kong almost daily with a teaspoon of peanut butter but had to stop because she really put on the weight. Now I use it still but smaller amounts and not as often.

Check out the link below its very informative!

A NEW PRODUCT WE ARE TRYING FOR JOINT CARE!

Emma my 10 year old Greyhound suffers from Arthritis, unfortunately she has joint pain in her shoulders, hips, and spine. We are always on the look out for more natural medications.
I recently heard about egg membrane being used to help stop bleeding on a wound. I had Emma at
Touch and Tell, for a massage. Sandy does dog massages she mentioned she heard egg membrane was great to help relieve joint pain and stiffness. I went to the Pharmacy and bought it . Only 5 days for it to start to work. Emma is on day two so I will let you know what I think.
It can be given with Glucosamine and claims to be 5X more effective then Glucosamine.
